I'm seriously the worlds worst blogger! I miss always having something to blog about but lately I am so bad at it! I guess there is always something to blog about but I just get too caught up and busy that I space it. So to my readers, I am sorry! But now I finally have some down time, so here I go spilling everything out I can remember about this past week.
1. Weeks go by so fast and yet so slow. I feel like this has been the longest week ever since the week before I got married. I put 45 hours into the salon, so that's probably why. It's tough going so much but I need to graduate asap. I've been there a year too long and it's time I get out of school. So for those of you reading and thinking "Man, Emily is still in school?" No I'm not a terrible hairstylest, I'm just a terrible student. Ok that's not true either. I LOVE HAIR. In fact, every day I am so grateful that God gave me this gift. It's my passion. It's my hobby. It's not even a job to me. It's what I love! But with Shawn coming home a little earlier than planned from his mission (due to sickness) and then getting married and being gone a lot for planning and honeymooning, my hours have been dragging. But I promise I'm good at it, and I promise you can trust me to make you look and feel beautiful. I've got tops 6 weeks left if I don't miss 1 single hour. I have to go 45 hours a week and I'll be finished! Hallelujah!
Another reason why this week has felt so long is because I don't see Shawn til 7 o'clock at night so that makes my days feel like weeks. Why can't we just be zillionaires and be together all day every day?
2. Thursday I went to Shelby & Scott Hickenloopers wedding and can I just say pinterest couple? Their pictures were incredible and they are the most beautiful couple I have ever seen! It was so country and hipster. I loved every single thing about it. and then when I got home (Shawn didn't come with me because he went to the gym, and I went to the reception with my mama) Shawn made dinner even though I told him he didn't have to, and there was a plate ready for me-bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns with a cute note by it that said "Babe I love you". -he's the cutest.
3. Friday was the most ridiculous night of my marriage and I can't help but share with you how pathetic I am. So get ready to laugh and I won't be upset if you do because I think back and laugh at myself. So, Shawn and I planned this date to go to The Pie in Salt Lake because he has never been before. and well, I haven't been since my 16th birthday! I was so excited to go Friday night. All day at the salon I was talking about 'our date' and getting all cute for 'my date with my boyfriend' ;)
Shawn got off of work at 12 to go to his parents house to help them replace their kitchen sink, stain the deck, and fix a fence. And he said he'd be done on time for 'our date'! Well around 6, he texted me and said "Babe, I'm so sorry. this is taking a lot longer than I thought. I don't know if I'll be done on time. So If I'm not I promise we'll go out Monday". So I was so mad. I was selfishly mad because I so badly wanted to go on a date with my husband and how dare he go to his parents house to help his dad! What a terrible person he is!! NOT! hahaha oh don't worry, I only get worse. He kept texting me and calling me telling me he loves me and that he is sorry and all this but of course being an emotional dramatic girl, I just continued being grumpy. He even told me to come over to his parents house to hang out with him and eat pizza. So what did my awnry butt do? Stayed home and watched TV. hahaha. Honestly, I didn't feel good and didn't really want to leave the house but why would I tell him that? I just wanted to be mad. haha! I'm so dumb.
SO THEN. He got home at 10. and came in the door saying HEY BABY! and I thought "dont you hey baby me. I'm mad at you remember?" and so I didn't even look at him. hahaha oh gosh. and he came over and kissed me. but I just kept being mad. so then I took NyQuil and went to sleep.
Yup. I didn't even want to talk to him about it. I was being so stubborn. but really I was totally okay that he was there. I mean, how could I be so selfish and so mad at a sweet and generous man that is so willing to help is parents. I mean, he was bummed too but he is so kind and willing to help people any time of the day. But nope, my stubborn attitude got in the way of seeing that. It took me to all night to have nightmares about him to wake up the next morning and admit to him that I was wrong! I'm ridiculous.
Married life at its finest right there folks.
4. Shawn and I went to the BYU vs UTAH game Saturday. Did you know I hate the utes? I hate the utes more than I hate losing. Yeah BYU lost. Shocker. But really, I was kind of surprised. At the beginning, BYU came out with a bang. We were stopping them left and right. Our defense is incredible. I mean, 6-0 at half time? Only because Utah got two field goals? It was an intense game. The refs were TERRIBLE. It was the most frustrating game I have ever seen. It got to the point where BYU fans weren't even MAD. We kept laughing because the refs were playing the game for the Utes. They would never flag Utah but always flag BYU. We easily got two touchdowns that apparently ''didn't count''. I mean, it was unbelievable. Me and my dad almost got in a fight with this Ute Fan. He was so obnoxious. He wanted to ''meet my dad after the game''. hahaha what a joke. And Ute fans are the worst. I have absolutely no respect for disrespecting someone's religious or personal
beliefs. What in the heck has that got to do with sports? Mocking
baptisms, sacraments, wearing sacred (to some) clothing...etc, etc. has
NO place in any school program....let alone sports. I fault the
coaching staff and directors as well as the team.....after all....if
this is a "holy war", then Mr. Whitingham whose side are you on? See
how ridiculus this has become? I'm glad now that this is finally over,
at least for a couple of years. I love Notre
Dame. There is a real class act.......something that Utah and yes BYU
can take as a model if you want real sports!!! Character is more than
if you have a beer or not. Character is respecting someones religion
and separating that from the competition of talent. The opposing teams
and quests at a Notre Dame game are treated with respect and welcomed.
Something you will never find on a Utah campass!!!! Enough said

Nothing New
Alright, lately I've been the worst blogger ever and to be honest it's because I don't know what to blog about! Our lives have been so busy and so repetitive lately.
Wake up;
Go to school/work;
Come home around 7 or 8;
Eat Dinner;
Watch One Tree Hill;
Sleep;
Really, our lives are so exciting. I wish I had something fun to tell you, but I don't. I have friends traveling the world and going out with celebrities; and we are just trying our hardest to get through school and making money. One day I'll have what my friends have. Okay not the celebrity thing because 1. that's luck 2. I'm married but I will travel the world. I don't know if you know this, but Shawn's going to be a surgeon one day and then we will have it really good. It'll definitely be worth it when we are living on airplanes traveling the world!!
But I love what we have and I love our busy busy schedules because the best part of my day is coming home to my husband after a long day.
So there's an update. When I have more stuff, I promise I'll post.
Ta-ta for now.

Linda's Legacy
Saturday I witnessed something very special and I'm so glad that I could be a part of it. My aunt (Anissa) has been trying to have a baby for 4 years and recently found out that they can't. Can you imagine hearing your doctor say those words? What a heart breaking feeling.
So one of my other aunts (Tauna) and Anissa's best friend found a 5K race called Footsteps to Fertility. and at the end of the race there was a drawing: 2 lucky winners get a free Invetro Treatment and 4 people got 50% off.
So now lets back track. Me and my dad woke up bright and early to go do this 5K. Once we got to Liberty Park in Salt Lake City, we met up with my dad's side of the family. Little did we know, that they had prepared us some unique outfits.
A bib: On it, it said "A Linda's Legacy Baby". For those of you who don't understand, Linda is my grandma; Anissa's mom. Linda passed away a few years ago suddenly from a heart attack.
A diaper: On it, it said "Baby Brown" because well, the family is Jason and Anissa Brown.
So we put those on over our clothes without Anissa knowing. We wanted to completely surprise her. Once we were ready, a group of us strutted our stuff over to the table where Anissa was. Tears filled her eyes when she realized who the crazy people in diapers and a bib were. And then she bursted with laughter.
So now it's race time and this is the first time I've ever participated in a race. And actually, it was a lot of fun. Even though we all stayed in a group and walked it, it was really neat to be there with the family supporting Anissa and Jason. And of course, getting all the looks from other people dressed normal.
After the race, we gathered together to listen for the winners. ABC 4 was there as it started to get it on the news. The lady that won it last year is pregnant with triplets! She got up to the microphone and said some stuff, but lets be honest all of us didn't pay much attention. We were too excited to hear the winners.
There was a giant gold wheel that they spun with 1100 papers inside of names. Anissa's group had 87 names out of that 1100. After all the yada yada talk and thank you's, they finally started. When the lady got up to announce they were going to begin the drawing, tears filled our eyes. First they were going to announce the 2 lucky winners of the free In vetro treatment. A lady spun the wheel and pulled out a name and what seems like, walked very slowly to the microphone.
"Team Allen" she said.
And our heads dropped. One more name.
Another lady came up and pulled out a name. Walked slowly to the microphone and said,
"Team Jason...(Anissa's face turns to Jason)... and Anissa"
Jumping. Screaming. Crying. All from a group in diapers! Unbelievable. Out of all the names, she was lucky enough to get this. She deserves this more than anyone I know. Camera's were on our group and the lady from ABC 4 was crying. What a miracle.
You could feel the warmth from Linda. Without a doubt, I know she was there and handed that card to the lady at the gold wheel.
