Ahhh I love Sundays

Sundays are seriously my favorite day of the whole week. There is nothing better than relaxing around the house all day with my best friend. Lately we have been dragging ourselves to church (good thing we have callings) because 9 am church is kicking our butt. I don't know what it is about Sunday but all we want to do is lay in bed. The nice thing about church being early is that we have the whole day to lay around and do absolutely nothing.

Our day has been absolutely pathetic perfect. After church, we ate left over pizza from last night (oops-sorry diet) and watched Despicable Me 2. Now its 3 in the afternoon and we are watching 90210 and there is not a care in the world. I love Sundays because you can't do anything. So I don't feel obligated to go to the gym, or go to work. I'll just lay on the couch all day and cuddle my babe.

The best part is we will be doing this until 6. Because then we are going to my parents house for dinner. That's another great thing about Sundays; spending time with the family.

Before I end this ridiculous post, I wanted to share something I saw on Twitter. It melted my heart. I couldn't agree more with everything it said. It makes me wish I wrote it.

"Growing up, I always thought true love was red roses, dates on Saturday nights, little black box that held expensive things, and always knowing what to say. I thought true love was a kiss in the rain, deep explanations, and the perfect story. But now that I'm older, I've realized it's not like that at all.

See because true love for me is ugly snapchats, and kissing at 6am despite the morning breath. It's singing at the top of our lungs. It's saying all the wrong things, at all the wrong moments. It's sarcasm and being honest even when it hurts. It's late hours of the night when it's been a long night and it's no make up and bad hair. It's tears from laughter, it's tears from sadness, and it's nothing like any storybook you've ever read. It's never running out of things to talk about and it's being comfortable in the silence of things. True love is watching The Notebook though you said you never would. It's getting mad over stupid things. It's "you're an idiot" and "you little shiz" and knowing you're so lucky to hear those things everyday. It's spilling your feelings at 4am when you should be asleep. It's that song you hear on the radio that always makes you smile. It's the worst story and the best story. It's ''thank goodness'' it worked out. True love is never losing the magic. True love is not leaving when things get hard.

I like my definition better anyways."

The perfect definition of true love.

Now I'm going to get back to cuddling with my babe. xox

Remember me?

Hi. Remember me? The girl that used to blog all the time? Sorry I've been so MIA lately. I don't have any explanation other than I was just taking a break for a little while. I've been so caught up with work and life that I haven't really wanted to blog lately. But I'm back and I hope that I'll keep up with it.

We celebrated my birthday a couple weeks ago and let me just say being married on your birthday is the best!A couple days before my birthday I went shopping and to lunch with my mama at City Creek and that was so fun to be with her and on my birthhday I woke up with a love note in the kitchen.

At the end, as you can see, it said for me to go to the dryer! I started laughing to myself thinking what on earth Shawn is doing.

(sorry it's sideways, it would NOT rotate)
So then I went to the fridge! HA.

So I went to work, and my cute friend at work decorated my station and it made my whole day. I've never been one to like working on my birthday but this sure made me happy.

After work, I went home and waited for my cute husband to get home from work. When he got home, there was a knock on the door. It was my in-laws with these cute balloons and a card. So good to see them on my birthday. They are so sweet.

After they left, we packed up our stuff and left. My husband is the cutest. He surprised me with a hotel in Salt Lake, dinner, and shopping! I dont know why, but for some reason I love hotels. I love getting away even if its 30 minutes away from my home. We had so much fun. We ate dinner at this yummy fancy place, shopped at City Creek and got a cute outfit, went back to the hotel and went hot tubbing and swimming. And then we went back to the room and had birthday cake and snuggled all night. I really had the best birthday any girl could ever ask for. My hubs sure did spoil me.

Mom for the week

Ah I finally get to sit down and actually blog. I don't have a whole lot to blog about but the past 2 weeks have been entertaining. Ha. I have played 'mom' for the past 2 weeks. Last week for my siblings while my parents were in Cancun, and this week for my uncle's kids while they are in Hawaii!

Last week was super easy. It always is when I babysit my siblings. 16 years old, 13 years old, and 9 years old. They all pretty much take care of themselves. Other than putting a dish in the dishwasher or cleaning up their stuff when they get home from school, they pretty much take care of themselves. Ha! But really they are fun and it's so easy. It's also way nice to get away from our little apartment and go into my parents very roomy house. We like it!

But get this, two days before my parents got home, I'm sitting on the couch with Shawn. No one is home. Kids are with friends. And my brother Parker (16) calls me:
"Whats up!"-Me
"Uhhh Emily?"(hearing him start to cry)-Parker
"ya?"-me
"I just got in a huge car accident. I think I totalled my car."

I JUMPED off the couch and Shawn was like what is going on! haha. I just told him to get in the car, Parker got in a car accident. So we rushed to him. For those that are familiar with Farmington, UT, it was the overpass by Farmington Station.

Talk about scarriest moment ever. Not only are we siblings, we are like best friends so to hear that made me cry immediately. Getting off the exit and seeing the flashing lights made me sick. But he is totally okay. No one was hurt. I just can't believe that happened while my parents were gone. ha.ha.ha. and the next morning, we are cleaning the house and Tyson (9) is cleaning the basement and yells,
"EMILY THE HOUSE IS LEAKING!"
Yup. The ceiling was leaking from the kitchen sink right above.
-Welcome Home Parents! Hahah

This week, I'm babysitting my uncle's kids at their house while they are in Hawaii. They have three kids. The two older girls are in school all day. and then they have a little 3 year old boy (Tate) who is my little buddy all day long. We are babysitting til Friday (today is Wednesday) and I've gotten a little taste of what it's like to be a mom. And as much fun as it is, it's definitely cured my baby hunger. Haha and not in a bad way. I adore these kids so much. but it's made me realize that me and Shawn are in no rush to have kiddos of our own right now! We've only been married 7 months. We are still young! We have other things we want to do before kids come into the picture. But it's so fun playing mom and dad! Tate is the best. We play all day and he will constantly say:

"Shawn is my buddy"
"When is Shawn coming home?"
"Why is Shawn at school? Daddy's don't go to school"
^haha my favorite. Daddys. I love it!

It's so cute to see Shawn play with Tate. Seriously, melt my heart! Shawn's going to be the cutest dad in the world. (when the time is right might I add).

So two more days of babysitting and it's gonna be a fun 2 days. Tonight we have fun things planned. Bowling and arcades! We are the coolest babysitters!

Other than that, it's been a week filled with Curious George and Mickey Mouse, Arctic Circle to play on the toy, Video Games, playing with the dog, running errands with my little buddy, and bath time. He LOVES the bath!

He also loves naps so that's nice! ha.ha.ha.

The Little Things

I finally have a night just to relax and get things done that I've wanted to do. And when I say things, I mean update my blog and upload wedding videos! I hope the wedding videos are uploading at this time, I don't really know what I'm doing. I just searched it on youtube so we'll see if it helps! HA.

Today has been a good day. Not great, but good. And I don't say that to sound like I'm sad or anything, nothing has happened today to make it absolutely amazing. But it has been a good day and I'm so happy. This morning was nice. Shawn and I both got to sleep in before I went to work. I love my job. But on a Saturday morning, not so much. Its so hard to get out of bed when my husband is so snuggly and cute while he sleeps. I could lay there all day! So after laying there til 10am and having to be at work by 11 I finally got out of bed to get ready. While I was getting ready, my sweetheart went to McDonalds to get us breakfast because for some reason that just sounded good no matter how gross some of you may think it is! And then when he came home, he went straight to the bedroom to make the bed.

It's the little things that he does that makes me so happy!

Before work we cuddled on the couch for a couple minutes til I was pushin' it to be at work on time!
Lucky for me, work flew by! When I got there, the salon was super busy with people waiting and that makes work go by so fast. While I was at work, Shawn informed me that he was going skateboarding with his friends. And for some reason I thought that was the hottest thing ever. I've always thought it was so sexy that he skates.

And how about how much he loves me? I love getting sweet texts while I'm so busy at work. And when I get the chance to look at my phone it's blown up with texts from him.

When I got off at 4, we got home about the same time and again cuddle up close on the couch watching Gossip Girl before he went to the Jazz game with his buddy from his mission. So now I have the house to myself. And Gossip Girl playing over and over again. Lazy weekends are so nice sometimes :)

Last night we had so much fun. We were going to go to Soldier Hollow with our friends to go tubing but that didn't happen. Instead we went to their house for game night. We played this game til 11:30pm! haha And that's late for all of us. But it was a blast. We are so lucky to have the friends that we have. Best Friends.

Well, looks like I can't figure out how to download these wedding videos so I'll just have Shawn do it later :)

Sweet Dreams World

I really wish I had more to blog about but sadly, I don't. Our lives are at a standstill right now. Nothing crazy going on, no big news, and honestly nothing really to write about and that's probably why I haven't been writing much. Shawn just started school again and my schedule with work is crazy. Our schedules this past week have been insane to the point where the time we spent together was laying in bed talking about our day because we were so tired. And by talking I mean saying ''it was good'' and dozing off. I HATE IT. But luckily I had yesterday off so we spent the whole day together. Well most of the day. Shawn and I went to the car show which we do every year. It's fun to pretend we'll be super rich one day and have all these dream cars in mind.

And then after the car show I did something super crazy and super spontaneous which is so not like me.

For two years now I have wanted permanent make up so bad. Unfortunately, I was born with super blonde eyebrows and blonde hair and as a woman, we always want what we don't have. Reason why I have dark hair and fill my brows in every day so they are darker! So a couple days ago, I sent my friend a message asking her who did her eyebrows and within an hour she texted me telling me her lady needed someone as a model for a class in SANDY (aka where the car show was) so of course I jumped right on that! Since we were already out there why not get permanent make up? I mean that's normal right?! HA! Well, it was more than worth it. Very painful, but worth it. And now its just a matter of taking care of them for a week. (blood, vasaline, medicine, washing them) So they look pretty gross right now and swollen and like someone took a permanent marker and drew them on. BUT in a week they will look fabulous! I will be sure to post a picture when they look um normal!

Other than that, I really wish I had more to tell you! Shawn and I are more in love than ever and it gets better every day. Even though we hate our schedules, at night we come home, cuddle up on the couch and watch Gossip Girl. The days are hard. Not seeing my husband until 9 o'clock at night is rough but its the best part of my whole day. There is nothing I look forward to more than being with my babe.

Now its a Sunday night and I'm sitting here watching Gossip Girl and my husband is sitting next to me reading his book. The house is spotless, the laundry is done, and I'm thrilled that it's almost time for bed. Isn't it funny as kids we hated bed time but as adults it's the best part of the day? I love sleeping! I have friends that stay up with their husbands til like 2 am but I'm sorry husband if you are reading this as much as I would love to do that with you and laugh all night and make cookies, we also have jobs and bed time is my favorite, cuddling up next to you.

But don't worry, there are times where we stay up late and do things that makes us feel like we are 21 and married not 40! HA!!

Sweet Dreams!

New Year, New You.

I guess it's my turn to write a post most bloggers are writing this week. Maybe people will read it, maybe people wont. But 2013 was a great year for me. It was the year I was waiting for since I graduated high school.

//2013 in Review//

January// The month of emotions. Shawn came home from his mission in Chile and it was the day I was waiting for since 2011. I can't even explain the emotions I felt that day and throughout that month but it was a feeling that I wish everyone could feel. The night before he came home, I had a sleepover with my best friend Holly, and we stayed up all night laughing and imagining what the airport was going to be like. When we got to the airport, it felt longer than the 2 years waiting for him to come down that freakin' escalator! But when I saw him for the first time, it was like he never left. The rest of the month we spent every day together. I finally got my best friend back.

February// This was the month I got engaged to my missionary. It was such a perfect day as we 'walked down memory lane' on all the dates he took me on leading up to the big question. (which wasn't really a big question, he knew the answer). And it's my birthday month, so that was great having him home for.

March// My brother got his mission call to the Netherlands. Me and Shawn went on our first vacation together to the romantic place called St George. HA! But really it was so fun.

April// A whole lot of wedding planning. Easter with a FIANCE.

May// Shawns birthday month. I loved spoiling him and doing stuff together rather than him being in Chile and hoping his package would get to him. And we did our engagements this month. So that was fun.Oh and so much wedding planning.

June// The month of bridal showers, more wedding planning, going through the temple, and GETTING MARRIED. This was the best month of the whole year. I married my best best best friend and it was the most perfect day.

July// HONEYMOON IN DISNEYLAND. Some say worst idea ever, I say best idea ever. We had a blast. And my brother left for his mission.

August// Living together. So much fun. It's like a sleepover with my best friend every night. Camping. Back to school.

September// Footsteps to Fertility 5k for my aunt. Enjoying the married life of course.

October// Halloween with my hubby. Harry Potter murder mystery party.

November// Another amazing week in Disneyland. This time with my husband AND family. First Thanksgiving with Shawn back from the mission and as my husband. A wonderful month. We did some black friday shopping too, which we'll never do again.

December// My second favorite month of the whole year. I love Christmas and it was so special to spend it with Shawn and our families. From decorating our house, to ending the year together everything was perfect. And I spent almost every day with my best friend Holly so that was awesome too. I also graduated school and landed my first job in a salon which I LOVE.

2013 was one of the best, if not the best, year of my life.

2014// A baby. Just kidding! I am so excited to see what this year is going to bring us. I have so many goals for the year. And I hate saying goals, because I beat myself up when I don't meet them. So I am going to make sure they happen this year! Last year was incredible and I'm going to make this year even better.

-Get the body of my dreams and get healthy.
-Read the Book of Mormon.
-Visit all the temples in Utah.
-Go somewhere tropical.
-Become a better wife.
-Be a better friend and sibling.
-Grow in my career.

Started the new year right. Movie and lunch with my hubbs. I love him so much!

A very 'married' Christmas

Being married on Christmas is the best. It was crazy to think that this was Shawn's first Christmas back from the mission and our first Christmas married. As strange as this sounds, I feel like he's been home forever! But he hasn't. It'll be one year in 6 days. Insane. I am so happy to have him here. The last two years I spent my Christmases skyping my 'missionary'. and now I got to wake up to him Christmas morning. I absolutely loved it. We spent the holidays with a lot of shopping and a lot of family parties. When I think of Christmas, the first thing I think about (besides Christ) is how many family parties I have. I don't think Shawn knew what he signed up for when he married me ;)

Monday (the week before Christmas) we got together with my moms side to dip Chocolates. It's a tradition, every year we dip chocolates like marshmallows, cinnamon bears, nuts, peanut butter cups, and caramel. Its so yummy.

Monday before Christmas, we had a Christmas party with my dad's side. Everyone came over to the house for dinner, a gift exchange, and Santa Claus :)

Christmas Eve, we went to my Grandma's house for a gift exchange just with her, and lunch. Then we went to my uncles house for more food and hanging out. Then we went home and my mom got us Christmas Jammies and then I helped her wrap presents til 1am and Shawn played Xbox with my brothers. This Christmas we slept over at my parents house. It's so fun to have a brother that still believes in Santa and presents everywhere in our family room. Shawn is the baby of his family so he hasn't had a Christmas like this in a long time.

Christmas morning was a blast. Christmas is so bitter sweet though. I like Christmas Eve so much better because it's not over yet.

Christmas morning we woke up at 5:30am and opened presents. And then my mom's side came over for a lunch and we had a white elephant gift exchange and it was HILARIOUS! I loved it. And then we went to Shawn's parents house and spend the day and night with them.We had a good time and a very yummy dinner.

I love Christmas and I'm so sad that it's over! I loved that I got to spend it with Shawny this year and have him as my husband. HUSBANDS ARE THE BEST. Love being married.

The cutest cousins you ever did see.
Cameron, Tryston, Tate

It's not Christmas without a sparkly shirt and red lips.
