Time's Passing.

4 Months Down

20 more to go.

Time is passing

and I'm loving every minute of it.

I'm not going to say that the

past four months

have been easy;

because I'd be lying to you.

They have been the

hardest

days of my life.

But it's all been worth it.

He has grown so much

I have grown so much

and we have

grown so much more in love

with eachother.

I have also gone

3 weeks

with out a letter.

Thank goodness for email right?

This morning I woke up

and it was one of those mornings.

I just knew today was going to be a bad day

until I checked the mail box.

And not just one

but TWO

letters were there for me.

They were amazing!

He always knows just what to say.

So bring it on-

20 more months.

20 more fast sundays.

8 more months til the year mark.

87 more weeks.

609 days.

We can do this!

I'm so happy that time is starting to pick up.

There are a couple things/people

that are helping me so much.

My Family

They put up with so much.

So many emotions.

But they support us so much!

Ever since I started,

I have stayed really busy

and made so many friends.

My Best Friends

She has been there through

every tear,

every excitement of a letter,

every anticipating monday

waiting for his email,

she's the best.

Holly Stoddard

she waited for her missionary

and has helped me with so much.

she has been there thru all the hard times

and helped me get over bumps in the road.

She always gives me the best advice

and has helped me realize the

good things in waiting for a missionary.

I couldn't do this with out her.

My Job

I just recently got a new job.

I love it!!

I'm really looking forward to it

keeping me extra busy

and getting more money.

Having a missionary is pretty expensive ;)

hahaha.

I have met some

amazing women

through an amazing Facebook page called

Waiting For A Missionary.

They are such a great support system

and some of my closest friends

i've actually met thru there.

It's so much help to have friends that

completely relate.

I love them.

Prayer

I have grown such a stronger testimony

in prayer.

I have relied so much on the Lord

to help me get thru this hard time in my life.

Going a day without the love of my life

is the hardest thing

but with the Lord on our side,

anything is possible.

I'm so grateful that I can kneel in prayer

whenever I need someone to talk to

and he is always there to listen.

I couldn't do it without him.

Last but not least,

help me so much.

I consider myself the luckiest girl in the world

to have such an amazing man

and the most amazing letters.

He always knows what to say

we are taking this journey together and that I will return to you in 20 months.

So before Shawn left,

me and him made a chain link for my room.

104 chains

because there are 104 weeks in two years.

on the even weeks

he wrote down a reason why he loves me.

on the odd weeks

I wrote down a reason why I love him.

I thought it would be cute to start posting some of them

(if they aren't too personal)

-I love him because of his laugh.

His laugh

is a very special thing.

In fact;

it was the very thing that pulled me in.

His laugh could make

ANYONE

smile.

Whenever I was having a bad day,

he would make me laugh

and then I would hear his laugh

and it made me so happy.

It takes a lot to hear him laugh really hard

and I so happened to hear that a lot.

What is Love?

What is Love?

-Is it living every day to be better for someone?

-Living to be what they need or what they want?

-Is it a feeling?

-A force that drives us to be better,

& to change our lives to make them happy?

-Does it help us to show how we feel?

-Does it bring the immense joy and pain that

comes from someone holding onto every fiber

of your soul?

-Does it bring long nights and day dreams

just of seeing their face?

-Does it create a bond that connects you

no matter how far away?

-Does it show you things that remind you of them

that you never would of noticed before?

Whatever it is

it is more than worth it.

They make you happier than anything

or anyone ever will.

Dont let go of that.

It is worth it.

More that worth it.

Even if you do have to wait.

In the end,

just think of how happy you will be.

So what is Love?

Its the feeling that I have for Shawn.

Its the feeling the Lord blessed me with to feel

while being so far away from someone.

It helps me hold on during the hard times.

Its the feeling I get after a long, hard night

knowing that he is thinking about me too.

Love is powerful.

And I'm the luckiest girl in the world

to be feeling it for my amazing missionary.

So close, but yet so far.

I've never been so excited

for conference weekend.

I have grown so much

spiritually

the past couple months

while Shawn has been serving a mission.

Not only was I looking forward to

hearing the words from

the great leaders of the church;

I was happy to know

that although Shawn is 6,037 miles away,

we were both doing the

exact same thing

at the exact same time.

All of a sudden

6,037 miles didnt feel so far away.

My favorite talk was by

Elder Robert D. Hales.

He said some amazing things that really stood out to me.

-no matter how hard the circumstance, we will gain something from the experience

-thy will be done

-sometimes we pray, but don't receive the answers we want because we aren't ready

-the Lords answer will come, but it may not be on our own time

-be kinder to one another, even kinder to ourselves

-we wait upon the lord

-to wait means to hope, anticipate, trust

-plant the seed of faith and nourish it

-pray always, ponder in your heart

-stand fast and press forward

-we will one day rest from all of our afflictions

-prayer is answered sometime, somewhere

-never give up on the Lord; His blessings are eternal, not temporary

-He knows, hears and loves us

-press forward in faith

Just walking around a cute store

with my cousins

when my phone vibrates.

4 new emails.

What the heck?

I almost wasn't going to open them

just thinking it was a photographer i have been emailing

for family pictures.

But I decided to open it anyways,

and sure enough it was my

Elder Shawn Larkin!!

I hurried outside to get better service.

and then we headed back immediately to

my cousins new apartment in Provo

to get on her laptop.

It was a much needed surprise!

I needed to hear from him that day.

This is why he emailed early:

It was Independance Day in Chile on Sunday

and the office was going to be closed Monday

so he had his Pday Saturday instead!

It was so fabulous to hear from him

and it definitely made me love him

a million times more;

I did something mean to him tho...

I thought it would be funny to play a harmless trick on him.

I told him I cut my hair.

His reply:

How short?!?!?!?!

I sent him this picture.

(no worries its a wig)

His reply to the picture:

"oh my goodness what freaking happened?! did you have to get it cut short? are you going to grow it back out?!?! You still look freaking gorgeous though!"

I laughed so hard.

He's such a liar. It is NOT cute.

hahaha.

I then told him it was a wig and not to worry.

His reply:

"hahaha welll!!!!!!!! even if you were bald i would love you so much!!!!! and still think you are the most gorgeous thing ever!!! but i freaking love you long hair, like my gosh i LOVE YOUR HAIR so it made me sad when you said you cut it!!! haha"

Isn't that the cutest thing ever?!

I sure do love him!

He knows I would never cut my hair tho.

Even heaven knows I would never cut my hair.

Even though it was so good to hear from him

on Saturday;

it's 9 days now that we have to go without

talking to each other.

It's okay though.

I'm lucky to even be able to hear from him once a week.

I love him so much.

Never too old for love.

Shawn loves Chile.

He is having so much fun there!

They get along so well!

Shawn is really enjoying th food,

the people there are so nice to him,

and he is teaching a few people!

Shawn told me a story about a member

him and his companion visit and eat lunch with.

When they go over there to eat,

they always feed them so much food.

Shawn always feels bad that he is taking their food

because they dont have much.

(sweetheart)

But you have to eat everything off your plate

or they think that you don't like it

Anyways,

as the members were serving Shawn

they said;

"We want to give you all we have

because its like we are serving the Savior.

You guys are the closest thing to the Savior,

you wear his name on your name tag everyday."

I'm so proud of Shawn and the man he is becoming!

Every monday when we email,

he seems so happy and his love for this gospel

grows every week.

I can see a change in him every week.

I like this change!

I love this change.

He is becoming the man of my dreams.
